According to Bungie, "This error appears to players who are not signed in with their platform account."

Error code Buffalo in Destiny 2 is a platform-centric error that could also prevent you from logging twice into the game.

How to fix error code Buffalo in Destiny 2

Bungie has enlisted several ways to fix the error code Buffalo in Destiny 2. As mentioned above, it's a platform-centric error, so it's most likely to do with the status of the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live.

Here are some reasons for the error code Buffalo

  • PlayStation Network or Xbox Live is undergoing maintenance
  • PlayStation Network or Xbox Live subscription has expired
  • Logging Destiny 2 on multiple PCs at the same time

The aforementioned reasons are self-explanatory though there are a few other fixes for PC users.

Some players have reported that logging in and out of Battle.net allowed them to get back to the game. Others recommend using a VPN, as it allows them to easily log in to Destiny 2.

Additionally, some players recommend changing the game server in Destiny 2. You can do this by simply going to the Destiny 2 page in the Blizzard app, where you will find the option to switch the game's server.
